The art of Batik (creating designs and pictures on cloth using wax as a way to make dye resist certain areas of the fabric) has been around for thousands of years and is found in many different cultures.  Irresistible Batiks gives participants a chance to learn about the history of this ancient art form as well to create a batik banner of their own.  Participants create a simple design on a cloth banner using oil pastels.  The pastels then resist the water color paint which is added next.  Participants end up with a very colorful wall-hanging to take home!

 

Prices

¨      The Irresistible Batik SmART Party is $6 per participant.  Siblings and adults are encouraged to participate and will be counted towards the total number of participants.
